About

What's a kitchen fairy?

A little background
I'm a 38 year old mum. I live in London with my DP and my two year old soon.  I love food. I love shopping for it, cooking it and eating it. Since becoming a mum in 2007, I’ve realised that what has been a hobby and sometimes profession has also become a responsibility. What I feed my child for the next 18 years or so will directly affect his health, his taste buds and his love of food. In that time, I've also had to adapt my cooking to take into account dear partner's likes and dislikes so I've experimented lots and broadened my repertoire. Llet’s be honest, turning out balanced, nutritious meals – day in, day out – with out boring ourselves and our family out of their minds or chaining yourself to the kitchen sink is a challenge. Being a mum is exhausting and we could all do with a bit of extra help…some fairy dust if you like. I’m not a trained chef or a professional cook, I’m just a mum who loves to put good food on the table and make sure I feed my family proper, home-cooked meals and I'm passionate about showing others how easy it is too.

Why “kitchen fairy”?
Because unless you are called Nigella , Rachel  or Tana  and it’s your job to breeze through life effortlessly turning out gorgeous, home cooked meals in a perfect kitchen without breaking a sweat, attaining Domestic Goddess status is near impossible for your run of the mill, everyday mum like us. kitchen fairy seems to be a more realistic title to strive for.

A home cookery session with the kitchen fairy solves the never ending dilemma of what to cook for your children – week in, week out. We all do it - the pasta salads from the supermarket, the fish fingers, the sugary snacks. It's OK and I'm happier when I manage to give him proper, home made stuff made with ingredients I've personally picked out and at half the price. Spend a few hours cooking with me and see for yourself how easy it is to make delicious, healthy food for your family. It’s home cooking made magically simple.
